The Eco-Wanderer campaign is a project focused on sustainable tourism. In partnership with Interrail, our customers will use the Carbon Emissions Calculator to calculate their carbon emissions offset when traveling to one of Famous hostels by train. We will offer a discount on your stay at your destination hostel based on this value, ranging from 5% to 20% off the total value.

How does it work?
We developed an online calculator app, which calculates the carbon emissions produced when traveling from one destination to another, and compares its offsets if traveling by train or plane. Based on the amount produced, you can receive a discount on the price of your stay at your destination hostel.

How to get to Balmers Interlaken by train?
From any major city in Europe, you can reach Interlaken by train. Go to Interrail and book your ticket. You will pass by Bern or Luzerne, depending on where you come from. Once arrived in Interlaken, we suggest you stop at Interlaken West station which is only 1.1 km from Balmers Hostel.
From West; Left out of the station and follow the main street, turn right at the traffic circle by the post office and follow the brown signs to Balmer’s
