Discover Lauterbrunnen
Lauterbrunnen is a really beautiful municipality in the Swiss alps with a picturesque valley and a stunning Swiss-style village just next to Interlaken. It is often referred to as The Valley Of 72 Waterfalls.
Lauterbrunnen is set in a valley surrounded by rocky cliffs and is home to the roaring, 300m high Staubbach falls. From Balmers Hostel, you just need to take the local bus to the train station and after a short train ride, you will have a few minutes to walk before arriving in the cute village of Lauterbrunnen and towards the waterfall with plenty of photo opportunities along the way!

The roaring Trümmelbach Falls, which are also the largest underground waterfalls in Europe, lurk inside the Schwarzer Monch mountain.
Staubbachfall, in German, translates to the waterfall “stream of dust,” like this impressive fall when the wind blows, carrying with it thousands of fine droplets.
With a drop height of 417 meters descending over five levels, at an altitude of 750 meters, the Mürrenbach waterfall is the highest waterfall in Switzerland and the fifth in Europe! The spectacle is all the more majestic after heavy rains or melting snow.
Summits and ski areas
Take a deep breath and reach by cogwheel train, Kleine Scheidegg, this railway pass at an altitude of over 2000 meters, offering a breathtaking view of the north face of the Eiger.
From there, it is possible to get to the "Top of Europe" by taking the train to the imposing Jungfraujoch, which rises to 3471 meters! The Scheidegg / Männlichen area is popular for walkers in the summer and skiers in the winter.
After taking the road at Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp, then a train to Mürren, you can also reach the summit of Schilthorn (2970 m)! From the top, you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of nearly 200 mountains and Unesco's world heritage, including the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks. This panorama served as the backdrop for certain scenes from the film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" from the James Bond saga.
In winter, Murren - Schilthorn turns into a vast ski area, while in summer it remains a paradise for hiking lovers and adrenaline addicts (paragliding, bunjy-jumping, etc.).
