Who is Balmers Hostel?
Siamo l'ostello più antico e divertente della Svizzera! Siamo situati in tre tradizionali chalet svizzeri in legno che circondano un cortile, una terrazza e un giardino. L'aspetto e l'atmosfera del nostro alloggio possono essere meglio descritti come giocosi, confortevoli e unici.
Who is Balmers Hostel for?
Balmers Hostel is for open-minded and easygoing travelers aged 18 and over looking for more than just a place to sleep.
Whether you’re here to explore the Swiss Alps, meet like-minded people from around the world, or simply relax and enjoy the vibe – Balmers is your home away from home.
We welcome solo travellers, groups of up to 8 people, and anyone with a sense of adventure and respect for others.
A che ora è il check in e check out?
Il check in inizia alle 16:00/il check out è entro le 10:00. Al momento del check-out vi chiediamo gentilmente di portare con voi le lenzuola, i copripiumini e le federe dei cuscini.
I'm arriving really late, will I still be able to check in?
Sì, ma dovrai effettuare il check-in online. Successivamente prepareremo le tue chiavi in modo che tu possa accedere alla tua camera dopo la chiusura della reception.
Come a raggiungere l'ostello dalla stazione ferroviaria / stazione degli autobus?
In autobus:
Dalla stazione Interlaken Ovest prendere l'autobus numero 105 e scendere alla fermata Hotel Sonne. L'operazione richiede 5 minuti
Dalla Stazione Ost prendere l'autobus numero 104 e scendere alla fermata Hotel Sonne. L'operazione richiede 5 minuti
Siamo a circa 30 metri da entrambe le fermate. Il prezzo dell'autobus è di Sfr 3,80 a persona. Gli autobus iniziano a circolare dalle 07:00 alle 20:30 circa. Una volta arrivato all'ostello ti forniremo un pass gratuito per l'autobus per la tua comodità e per il resto del tuo soggiorno

Ci vogliono circa 20 minuti da entrambe le stazioni
Dalla stazione di Interlaken West – svoltare a sinistra fuori dalla stazione e seguire la strada principale, svoltare a destra alla rotatoria subito dopo Mc Donalds fino in fondo. Rimani sul lato sinistro della strada e cammina dritto finché non vedi i segnali marroni che indicano Balmers. Segui questi segnali
Come arrivare a Balmers dalla stazione di Interlaken Ovest
Dalla stazione di Interlaken Ost – uscite direttamente dalla stazione, tra la banca e il centro commerciale Coop, attraversate due rotatorie e seguite le indicazioni marroni per Balmers.
È anche possibile ottenere un taxi per circa 15 chf da entrambe le stazioni ferroviaria.

❤️ When I wake up in the morning, open the curtains, and see the white snow that piled up overnight, I think, `Ah, this is the real winter..!`
In times like this, skiing and snowboarding would be the icing on the cake, but if you can`t, don`t worry. There`s a sled! I`ll tell you all about the most beautiful sections I`ve seen while sledding in Interlaken every year, as well as tips on how to safely sledding.
🛷 Route 1) Eiger Gletscher > Kleinegg Scheidegg > Brandeck > Grindelwald Grund
Difficulty (High)
You can sledding at Jungfraujoch, but the sections are very limited, like in Korea. Instead, if you ride from Eiger Gletscher, you`ll go down a total of 13 kilometers to Grindelwald Grund Station, which is very exciting. (Stamina is important)
🚃How to get there: Interlaken Ost Station > Grindelwald Terminal Station and go to the Intersport store (You have to go down 1 floor from the station) Rent a sled > Take the Eiger Gletzer gondola > Get off at Eiger Gletzer Station > Take the elevator down > Go outside the building > Start the purple section.
🛷Route 2) Kleine Scheidegg > Brandeck > Grindelwald Grund
Difficulty (Medium)
Recommended for those who are afraid of the Eiger Gletzer section. This section is not as steep as the Eiger Gletzer, so you can enjoy going down slowly. It`s dreamy and beautiful when you pass through the forest.
🚃How to get there: Interlaken Ost Station > Lauterbrunnen Station > Kleine Scheidegg Station > Arrive at Grindelwald Grund for sledding

🛷Route 3) First > Grindelwald
Difficulty (medium-high)
You need stamina because you have to sled down 11 kilometers!
I can`t tell you how beautiful it is!
It`s also my favorite section.

❄️ Ice Walk on Oeschinensee Lake ❄️
In winter, this stunning Swiss lake freezes over, creating a magical Ice Walk!
The Ice Walk is usually open from January to early March, but check the website for the status before heading out. I checked today and it`s open now!
A marked loop on the ice lets you safely explore—just follow the sticks indicating the path. Ice skating is sometimes allowed, but bring your own skates! ⛸️
How to get there:
🚆 Train to Kandersteg
🚠 15 min walk to gondola station
🎟️ CHF 32 round trip (50% off with Swiss Travel Pass, Half Fare Card, or GA)
🥾 30 min walk to the lake (no snowshoes needed!)
⚠️ Check signs for ice conditions (Level 1 = safest) before stepping onto the lake! You do this at your own risk.
🌟 Don’t forget to grab lunch at Berggasthaus Oeschinensee before heading back!
