Siamo entusiasti di averlo fatto! Per aiutare a rendere il tuo soggiorno - e tutti gli altri, come possibile, ecco alcune cose da tenere a mente:

Cos'è Balmers Hostel?
Balmers Hostel è il più antico ostello di proprietà privata della Svizzera, ambientato in tre affascinanti chalet svizzeri circondati da cime delle montagne in attesa di essere esplorate. È un luogo rilassato e sociale in cui i viaggiatori possono connettersi, rilassarsi e godersi un'atmosfera giocosa e unica nel suo genere.
Oh, e prima di dimenticare, organizziamo una festa o due, specialmente in alta stagione.
Per chi è Balmers Hostel?
Balmers Hostel è per viaggiatori dalla mentalità aperta e alla mano, dai 18 anni in su, che cercano qualcosa di più di un semplice posto dove dormire. Che tu sia qui per esplorare le Alpi svizzere, incontrare persone che la pensano allo stesso modo da tutto il mondo o semplicemente rilassarti e goderti l'atmosfera, Balmers è la tua casa lontano da casa. Diamo il benvenuto a viaggiatori singoli, gruppi fino a 10 persone e chiunque abbia un senso di avventura e rispetto per gli altri.

Lake Brienz looks different under the snow, quieter, slower, and almost colourless except for that faint winter blue. It’s one of those views that makes you stop for a moment, even if you’ve seen it before.
If you’re staying at Balmers this season, it’s an easy trip from the hostel and well worth the detour when the weather turns cold.

A jet boat ride on Lake Brienz isn’t just about speed; it’s the cold spray, the turquoise water, and the way the mountains close in around you. It wakes you up a bit, in a good way.
If you’re staying at Balmers, it’s an easy outing and a nice change from hiking days. The lake feels different from the valley, especially in the early morning light.
Worth a look if you like a bit of movement without going full adrenaline mode.

📍Harder Kulm is a viewpoint above Interlaken in Switzerland. From the top, you’ll see both Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and the surrounding Bernese Alps.
How to Get There:
👉🏻 Go to Interlaken Ost railway station. From there, walk about 5 minutes across the Aare River to the valley station of the funicular.
👉🏻Take the funicular (Harderbahn) up to the summit. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes.
👉🏻Alternatively, for the more adventurous: there’s a hiking trail from Interlaken up to Harder Kulm - takes about 2-3 hours, with a steep climb.
Ticket Prices & Discounts:
👉🏻A regular adult return ticket on the funicular is around CHF 38 (about €35) in 2025.
👉🏻 If you hold a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card, you get a 50 % discount, so around CHF 19-22.
👉🏻 Season: The funicular runs from mid-April to late November (exact dates vary), so check ahead.
👉🏻 The funicular departs every 30 minutes during operating hours.

Even though I’ve been to Switzerland many times, I’ve mostly explored the German-speaking side. We planned to see Ticino this trip (the Italian region!), but the weather wasn’t cooperating 😅 so we went to Aare Gorge instead — and wow… Switzerland really has no bad angles. 🏔✨
And yes, I somehow ended up in Interlaken again 😅 I never expected it to become so familiar to me, but life brings you to unexpected destinations for beautiful reasons.
Switzerland is unbelievably stunning — from the lakes to the mountains to the villages — and yes, it can be pricey. But the priceless part is the laughter, reunions, memories, and friendships that keep bringing me back. A place is beautiful, but it’s the people who make it meaningful. 🫶
